Why Did PM Modi Thank the Croatian Government for His Historic Visit to Zagreb?

Zagreb, June 19 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his heartfelt thanks to the citizens and government of Croatia for their warm reception during his recent trip to Zagreb. This visit exemplifies the friendly relations between the two nations and emphasizes their collaboration on numerous significant matters.

"I am thankful to the people and Government of Croatia for the gracious welcome during this momentous visit. This trip opens a new chapter in our collective journey of friendship and extensive collaboration. @AndrejPlenkovic," PM Modi posted on the social media platform X.

Earlier, the Indian Prime Minister engaged with Croatian President Zoran Milanovic, where they discussed enhancing the camaraderie between India and Croatia, focusing on promoting trade and cultural exchange.

"I had an extensive discussion with President Zoran Milanovic regarding the full spectrum of India-Croatia relations, including strategies to enhance business and cultural links," PM Modi shared on X.

As part of the visit, PM Modi and Croatian PM Andrej Plenkovic paid their respects at the Monument to the Homeland in Zagreb.

"The Monument to the Homeland holds great significance for the Croatian people. I laid a wreath there earlier. @AndrejPlenkovic," PM Modi mentioned on X.

We will closely cooperate in areas like defense, security, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, IT, renewable energy, technology, and more. Collaborations in sectors such as semiconductors, shipbuilding, and connectivity can prove to be extremely beneficial. @AndrejPlenkovic," PM Modi remarked.

He also engaged in productive discussions with PM Plenkovic, concentrating on enhancing bilateral cooperation across key sectors, such as defense and security, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, information technology, and renewable energy.

The two leaders explored potential collaborations in areas like semiconductors, shipbuilding, and connectivity, as noted by the Prime Minister's Office in a post on X.

"We are keen on deepening cultural and people-to-people connections between India and Croatia. Indology has gained popularity in Croatia for several decades. Tourism is another sector that can bring our nations closer together. It's wonderful to see the growing interest in Yoga here," PM Modi expressed in another post on X.

He also interacted with the Indian diaspora residing in Croatia, who warmly welcomed the Prime Minister upon his arrival in Zagreb.

"The Indian community in Croatia has played a significant role in the country's progress while maintaining strong ties to their roots in India. In Zagreb, I met with some members of the Indian community, who gave me a memorable reception. There is immense excitement among the Indian community regarding this visit and its potential to strengthen the bonds between our nations!" said PM Modi in a post on X.

Reiterating that war is not a solution, but rather dialogue and diplomacy are essential to resolving disputes, the Prime Minister's Office stated in a post on X: "We both agree that in Europe or Asia, solutions to conflicts cannot arise from the battlefield. Dialogue and diplomacy are the only paths forward. Respecting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of any nation is crucial: PM Narendra Modi."

"We concur that terrorism poses a threat to humanity. He is against those who undermine democracy. We are truly thankful to PM Plenkovic and the Government of Croatia for their condolences regarding the terrorist attack in India on April 22. In challenging times, the support from our friendly nations is invaluable: PM @narendramodi," noted the Prime Minister's Office in another post on X.

"I have personally witnessed the popularity of yoga here. June 21 is International Yoga Day, and I am confident that the people of Croatia will celebrate it with great enthusiasm: PM @narendramodi," the PMO stated in a post on X.

Both India and Croatia have committed to enhancing cooperation in various sectors to boost bilateral trade and establish reliable supply chains; they aim to promote collaboration in pharmaceuticals, agriculture, information technology, clean technology, digital technology, renewable energy, and semiconductors, PM Modi added.

Furthermore, cooperation will be expanded between India and Croatia in the domains of shipbuilding and cybersecurity, he noted.

India and Croatia are united by shared values such as democracy, the rule of law, pluralism, and equality, PM Modi stated.
