Polish President Approves Legislation to Maintain Electricity Rates Until September 2025

Warsaw, Dec 11 (NationPress) Polish President Andrzej Duda has enacted legislation to keep electricity prices for households at 500 Polish zlotys (around $123.6) per megawatt-hour (MWh) through the end of September 2025, according to an announcement from the president's office.
As part of this new law, local government entities and certain vulnerable organizations will also enjoy a capped electricity rate of 693 Polish zlotys per MWh until the end of March 2025.
This initiative is projected to incur an additional expense of 150 million Polish zlotys, as reported by Xinhua news agency.
The law stipulates that electricity providers must submit tariff adjustment requests to the president of the Energy Regulatory Office by April 30, 2025.
The government anticipates that the overall cost of safeguarding household electricity prices until September 30, 2025, will reach 3.732 billion Polish zlotys. (1 Polish zloty = 0.25 USD)
