Vatican, April 26 (NationPress) President Droupadi Murmu was present at the mass funeral of His Holiness Pope Francis in Saint Peter’s Square, Vatican City, on Saturday.

Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State for Minority Affairs, George Kurian, and Deputy Speaker of the Goa Assembly, Joshua De Souza, were part of the official Indian delegation attending the funeral ceremony.

The day before, President Murmu paid her respects to the late pontiff. On her X handle, she posted, “President Droupadi Murmu paid homage to His Holiness Pope Francis at the Basilica of Saint Peter in Vatican City.”

Pope Francis passed away on April 21 at the age of 88.
