Male, July 25 (NationPress) As Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares for his state visit to the Maldives beginning this Friday, the Indian diaspora residing in the island nation has shown immense joy and pride in anticipation of his arrival.
This visit, at the invitation of Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu, aligns with the Maldives' 60th Independence Day and marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and the Maldives.
"We are thrilled about his visit. I arrived in the Maldives two years ago, and the atmosphere has changed significantly. The admiration for India here is remarkable," remarked a member of the Indian community in Male.
Another member highlighted PM Modi's global diplomatic efforts, stating, "His visits to various countries have put India on the world map in a proud manner."
For many Indians in the Maldives, this visit carries both symbolic and personal significance. "It is a tremendous honor for PM Modi to come here. I am part of the management team for the meeting and hope to have the opportunity to meet him personally," shared an enthusiastic individual.
