Singapore, May 8 (NationPress) Singapore has released a travel advisory, recommending that its citizens refrain from non-essential travel to Jammu & Kashmir and Pakistan due to rising tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad.

"Singaporeans are urged to postpone all non-essential travel to Jammu & Kashmir in India, as well as to Pakistan. Travelers should exercise caution, particularly in the border areas between Pakistan and India," the advisory emphasized.

"Singaporeans currently in India and Pakistan are advised to remain alert and take all necessary measures for their personal safety, which includes avoiding large crowds, staying updated with local news, and following the guidance of local authorities," it further advised.

This advisory was issued following the launch of Operation Sindoor by the Indian armed forces, targeting nine significant terror locations within Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in retaliation for the tragic April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that resulted in the loss of 26 innocent lives.

In light of the Pahalgam terror attack, Singapore expressed its solidarity with India in the ongoing battle against terrorism.

"Singapore vehemently condemns the terror attacks in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, 2025, which have claimed numerous lives. We stand united with India in combating terrorism," stated the country's foreign ministry.

Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan also took to social media to denounce the attack and reaffirm support for India.

"I am deeply saddened by the terror attacks in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which have resulted in significant casualties. Singapore strongly condemns any form of terrorism. We are with India during this challenging period," he posted on X.

Operation Sindoor commenced in the early hours of Wednesday, involving a coordinated effort by the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy as a decisive response to the Pahalgam massacre.

The operation targeted critical infrastructure associated with the terror groups responsible for the April 22 attack.

The Indian government confirmed that it has exercised its right to respond to heinous acts of terror emanating from its neighboring country.

India stated that its response to the Pahalgam attacks was measured, controlled, and aimed at avoiding escalation.

Real-time surveillance and assessments after the strikes confirmed the successful destruction of the intended targets.

Operation Sindoor represents one of India's most assertive cross-border military actions since the Balakot airstrikes in 2019.
