Seoul, April 16 (NationPress) A prominent South Korean team is scheduled to travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) this week to strengthen Seoul's proposals for high-speed railway and infrastructure projects in the Middle Eastern nation, as announced by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on Wednesday.

Headed by Land Minister Park Sang-woo, the delegation will engage with UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei on Friday to explore bilateral collaboration in the transport and infrastructure domains, particularly focusing on the UAE's planned high-speed railway project linking Abu Dhabi and Dubai, according to reports from the Yonhap news agency.

The ministry has established a public-private partnership team that includes the state-owned Korea National Railway, Korea Railroad Corp. (KORAIL), Hyundai Rotem Co., and POSCO E&C Co., which has successfully advanced through the prequalification phase of the bidding process for the UAE railway project.

The delegation aims to highlight South Korea's technological superiority and the economic feasibility of its high-speed rail systems, drawing on recent achievements in securing lucrative export contracts from Uzbekistan and Morocco.

Additionally, the delegation will address ongoing collaborations stemming from a memorandum of understanding established last year during the UAE president's official visit to South Korea.

According to the agreement, South Korea and the UAE aspire to jointly penetrate third-country infrastructure markets, especially in post-conflict recovery areas, by merging South Korea's construction skills with the UAE's financial resources.
