Dubai, Oct 13 (NationPress) Dubai, a prominent business center within the United Arab Emirates (UAE), is dedicated to attracting globally competitive startups in the artificial intelligence (AI) domain, including those from South Korea, as stated by a senior official from the city's foundation.
Saeed Al Falasi, the executive director of the Dubai Future Foundation, made these comments during a group interview on Sunday at the venue of the annual Expand North Star startup exhibition, which commenced in Dubai on the same day, according to reports from Yonhap news agency.
"Whenever we discuss AI and its developments globally, South Korea consistently emerges as a leader in innovative practices," the executive director mentioned.
The state-run foundation aims to connect authorities with international businesses, especially startups, to tackle future challenges through the utilization of advanced technologies like AI, the Internet of Things, and blockchain.
Al Falasi emphasized that his foundation advocates for a concept termed the "commercial diplomat," which is designed to offer state-level support to startups, granting them broader access than they could achieve on their own.
"We provide these startups with more than just a simple introduction or contact; hence, I refer to it as the commercial diplomat," he explained, citing the foundation's collaboration with the National Research Foundation of Korea as a prime example.
