Quetta, Dec 4 (NationPress) A minimum of three civilians have been forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces in Balochistan, coinciding with a rising trend of enforced disappearances throughout the province, as reported by a prominent human rights organization on Thursday.
In a statement of deep concern, Paank, the Human Rights Department of the Baloch National Movement, disclosed that three individuals from the Tijaban Singabad area in Kech district were abducted during separate incidents on December 1.
The identified victims include 50-year-old teacher Master Rafiq, allegedly taken by personnel from the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) at the Deputy Commissioner's Office in Kech, and a student named Zubair, who was abducted in Turbat city by Frontier Corps (FC) personnel. Moreover, a 52-year-old police constable, Khudadad, was detained by FC forces in Turbat.
“Their current locations are unknown, increasing anxiety and distress among their families and the local community,” stated Paank.
On Wednesday, Paank highlighted further atrocities in Balochistan, revealing that another two Baloch civilians also fell victim to enforced disappearance by Pakistani authorities in Kech.
On November 27, Danish, a 24-year-old student, was reported missing after being abducted from the Shaheed Fida Chok area in Turbat. Local sources indicated involvement from CTD and Pakistani Military Intelligence (MI) in this abduction. Since that time, his family has received no updates regarding his safety or location.
Paank expressed significant concern regarding the enforced disappearance of Sajid Ahmed, a resident of Shahi Tump in Turbat.
“Reports from the locality indicate that Sajid was taken into custody by FC personnel on the Panjgoor M8 road on November 30, 2025. His whereabouts have remained unknown, causing profound distress to his family,” the organization noted.
Recently, the human rights group Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) emphasized a severe humanitarian crisis in Balochistan, cautioning about a rise in systematic oppression and violence by Pakistani authorities.
In its report titled 'Human Rights Situation in Balochistan,' the BYC documented 168 cases of enforced disappearances during September and October, with 12 individuals released, 17 reported dead in custody, and 140 still missing.
Kech emerged as the district with the highest number of cases, recording 54, followed by Panjgur with 26, Dera Bugti with 21, and Quetta with 20.
