Did Trump Blame the 'Radical Left' After Charlie Kirk's Murder?

Washington, Sep 11 (NationPress) US President Donald Trump released a video statement in response to the tragic shooting of conservative activist and renowned influencer Charlie Kirk, 31, who was fatally shot during a campus event in Utah. The incident took place around 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday (local time) during a student Q&A session at Utah Valley University (UVU) in Orem, according to the university's statement.

In his address shared on Truth Social, Trump expressed he was "filled with grief and anger at the heinous assassination of Charlie Kirk," directly attributing blame to the radical left for this act of violence.

He accused critics of dehumanizing Kirk and likening him to "Nazis and the world's worst mass murderers and criminals."

"Everyone who knew and loved him is united in shock and horror. Charlie was a patriot who dedicated his life to the cause of open debate and the nation he cherished, the United States of America. He fought for liberty, democracy, justice, and the American people. He is a martyr for truth and freedom, revered by youth," Trump remarked.

"Charlie was a man of profound faith, and we find solace in knowing he is now at peace with God in heaven," he added.

Offering his condolences, Trump stated, "Our prayers are with his wife Erika, their two beloved young children, and his entire family, whom he cherished above all else. We implore God to watch over them during this painful time. This is a dark moment for America."

The US President emphasized that Charlie Kirk's mission was to engage young people in the political arena, a task he accomplished exceptionally well.

He praised Kirk's ability to articulate his views with "courage, logic, humor, and grace," while cautioning that "violence and murder are the tragic outcomes of demonizing those with differing opinions."

Reiterating his accusations, Trump again attributed Kirk's murder to the radical left, asserting, "Those on the radical left have equated admirable Americans like Charlie with Nazis and the world's worst criminals. This type of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism we are witnessing in our country today, and it must cease immediately."

Trump vowed accountability, stating, "My administration will identify everyone complicit in this atrocity and other forms of political violence, including organizations that fund and support it, as well as those who target our judges, law enforcement officials, and anyone else maintaining order in our country."

He referenced other instances of political violence, including an assassination attempt against him in Pennsylvania and assaults on ICE agents, claiming that "radical left political violence has harmed too many innocent lives."

Describing Kirk as "the best of America," Trump added, "The monster who attacked him was assaulting our entire nation. An assassin attempted to silence him with a bullet, but he failed because we will ensure that his voice, message, and legacy endure for generations to come."

Trump concluded by asserting that in death, Kirk's message has only amplified: "Charlie's voice has grown louder than ever before."
