Kyiv, Oct 24 (NationPress) A tragic incident occurred at a railway station in Ovruch, Ukraine, where at least three individuals lost their lives and 12 others sustained injuries due to an explosion. This information was confirmed by a statement from the State Border Guard Service on Friday.
The report indicated that a female border guard and two civilians were among the deceased after a man set off an explosive device during a routine document check, as reported by Euro News. Local media, citing national police, identified the weapon as a hand grenade. The attacker, a 23-year-old from Kharkiv, later succumbed to his injuries in an ambulance.
Currently, authorities have not established a link between this explosion and the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
Ivanna Siletska, a spokesperson for the Zhytomyr Oblast police force, stated that law enforcement agencies, including the main directorate of the national police, are actively investigating the incident.
