United Nations, June 6 (NationPress) — The Security Council has urgently called for the immediate and unconditional release of personnel affiliated with the United Nations, as well as those from nongovernmental and civil society organizations and diplomatic missions, who are being held by the Houthis in Yemen.
In a press release on Thursday, the Security Council members reaffirmed that any threats posed to individuals delivering humanitarian aid and support are wholly unacceptable. They emphasized the necessity for the Houthis to adhere to international humanitarian law to facilitate safe, rapid, and unimpeded access for humanitarian assistance to reach civilians in need.
