Moscow, November 28 (NationPress) Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the US-proposed list of points regarding Ukraine might serve as a foundation for future agreements.
During a press conference held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, Putin commented, "It would be inappropriate for me to discuss any definitive options at this time, as none exist. However, some elements are crucial."
Putin highlighted that the US has, in certain respects, acknowledged Russia's stance, which was addressed before and after the August discussions between Putin and US President Donald Trump in Alaska, as reported by Xinhua.
“It is essential for us to convene and engage in serious dialogue regarding specific matters,” he remarked.
“We must articulate everything in diplomatic terms because it is one thing to generally assert that Russia intends no aggression towards Europe. Honestly, that sounds absurd. We have never aimed to do so,” he added.
Putin also mentioned that the 28-point peace plan proposed by the US was communicated through the appropriate channels and has been reviewed by the Russian side.
This peace initiative was announced last week, and subsequent to its release, officials from the United States, Ukraine, and several European nations convened in Geneva to deliberate on the proposal.
Through these discussions, the proposal has been condensed to 19 points, though these details have yet to be made public, marking the latest development in the ongoing diplomatic efforts to resolve the Ukraine crisis.
