Washington, Nov 3 (NationPress) The President of the United States, Donald Trump, expressed admiration for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping. When questioned about which of the two global leaders posed a greater challenge, he characterized both as formidable and astute individuals who should not be underestimated.
In an interview with the American news outlet CBS, when asked, "Who is more challenging to engage with, Vladimir Putin or Xi Jinping?", President Trump responded, stating that both leaders are "tough and smart".
“Both are extremely strong leaders. They are not individuals to be trifled with. You must regard them with utmost seriousness. They don’t approach discussions with a light-hearted demeanor; they are serious people. These are individuals who lead with strength and intelligence,” quoted President Trump during his appearance on CBS' 60 Minutes.
Additionally, President Trump reaffirmed his assertion of having resolved eight conflicts, noting that the only one he has yet to address is the situation in Ukraine, emphasizing, "that will come to pass".
"By the ninth month, I halted eight wars. The only conflict I haven't been able to resolve yet is Russia's involvement in Ukraine, which I initially thought would be the simplest due to my strong rapport with President Putin," the US President remarked.
"Our country has regained its respect on the global stage, which aided in stopping the wars. Trade also played a crucial role,” he elaborated.
President Trump mentioned that he has addressed the topic of denuclearization with leaders from both Russia and China, recognizing the extensive nuclear arsenals possessed by both nations.
“I firmly believe we must take action regarding denuclearization, and I have indeed had discussions about it with both President Putin and President Xi,” he emphasized.
He confirmed intentions to carry out nuclear tests, stating, "We need to understand how our technology functions. The reason I advocate for testing is that Russia has declared plans to conduct tests, and North Korea is constantly testing, as are other nations. We are the only country refraining from such actions."
When it was highlighted that Moscow was testing delivery systems instead of nuclear weapons, President Trump responded that both Russia and China are conducting similar tests, "but they are not publicizing it."
