Davos, Jan 25 (NationPress) The World Economic Forum (WEF) has wrapped up its annual gathering, emphasizing the necessity of enhanced cooperation to confront global challenges and uncertainties.
In the midst of ongoing conflicts, economic turbulence, and swift technological progress, the WEF Annual Meeting 2025 served as a vital venue for promoting dialogue, fostering collaboration, and pursuing sustainable solutions to collective global issues, as reported by the Xinhua news agency.
In his final address, WEF President Borge Brende stated, “We all recognize that this week in Davos has occurred during a period of profound consequence and uncertainty. The political, geopolitical, and macroeconomic landscape is constantly evolving.”
He stressed that pressing political priorities such as stimulating economic growth, decreasing carbon emissions, and resolving conflicts demand immediate action. “These challenges cannot afford to wait, and the only path forward is through collaboration,” he asserted.
Brende further acknowledged that global leaders from both public and private sectors convened to showcase how collaboration can be realized. Despite competitive interests among nations, there are overlapping areas where “we truly need to strike deals to enhance the world.”
During the Economic Outlook session, International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva pointed out that the shifting geopolitical landscape will alter trade and economic relations. She remarked, “Collaboration is essential for the future of humanity.”
Nearly 3,000 attendees from diverse regions and industries gathered in Davos to tackle significant global and regional challenges. Topics included responding to geopolitical upheavals, fostering growth to improve living standards, and promoting a fair and inclusive energy transition.
This year’s meeting, themed “Collaboration for the Intelligent Age,” concentrated on five key areas: reimagining growth, industries in the intelligent age, investing in people, protecting the planet, and restoring trust.
