New Delhi, Feb 6 (NationPress) A group of Congress leaders have rebuffed the results of the Delhi Assembly exit polls and expressed strong confidence in their potential to regain power in the national capital, bolstered by public support.
While most exit polls predict a setback for Congress and a comfortable win for the BJP, representatives from both Congress and Shiv Sena (UBT) have dismissed these forecasts, asserting that a return to power is inevitable for their party.
Congress leader Ajai Rai remarked to IANS, "The citizens of Delhi will make a well-informed decision. Congress has experienced a surge in support, and we are committed to capitalizing on that momentum. Having previously struggled for visibility, we now anticipate securing more votes and seats, propelling Congress forward, not just in Delhi but nationwide."
Responding to the exit polls, Pramod Tiwari stated, "We cannot place our trust in exit polls. The Congress vote share is growing consistently. We are confident that we will establish the next government in Delhi."
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi also dismissed the exit polls, recalling the surprising outcomes from the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
"Exit polls have failed consistently," she said.
"In the last national elections, predictions suggested that certain parties would gain over 400 seats, only to be proven inaccurate. The public is awaiting the actual results. It is evident that the residents of Delhi are voting for those who genuinely work for their interests. Despite the abuse of central agencies against those advocating for schools and hospitals in Delhi, the electorate will support those fighting for their rights."
Despite ruling Delhi from 1998 to 2013, Congress has faced challenges in recent years, failing to secure any seats in both the 2015 and 2020 assembly elections. In 2025, most exit polls anticipate a continued decline, with Congress not expected to win any seats in the capital.
Conversely, the BJP is widely predicted to emerge victorious, while the current Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, is expected to lose his hold on power.
The final results of the Delhi Assembly elections are set to be announced on February 8, and all eyes will be on whether Congress can overturn the predictions.
