New Delhi, Jan 29 (NationPress) Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani on Wednesday conveyed his sorrow and distress over the devastating stampede incident at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, and pledged all possible support to the families affected.
Following the tragic event that led to several casualties and injuries among pilgrims, the billionaire shared his condolences via his social media account on X.
"We are profoundly saddened by the tragic incident that took place at Maha Kumbh. We extend our heartfelt tributes to the deceased and share our deepest sympathies with the grieving families," Gautam Adani stated in a post.
He further emphasized that Adani Group is dedicated to offering every possible assistance to the families impacted.
"All members of the Adani family present at the Maha Kumbh and the entire Adani Group, in cooperation with the fair administration and the state government, are committed to rendering every possible support to the affected families," stated the chairman.
Earlier that day, the stampede at the ongoing Maha Kumbh in the early hours of Wednesday morning prompted heartfelt condolences from various political leaders.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the families who lost their loved ones and wished for a swift recovery for all the injured.
"The incident that took place at Prayagraj Maha Kumbh is incredibly tragic. My deepest sympathies go out to the devotees who have lost their loved ones. Additionally, I wish for the rapid recovery of all those injured," PM Modi remarked.
PM Modi also communicated multiple times with UP CM Yogi Adityanath after the unfortunate incident to assess the situation.
During a media briefing, CM Yogi Adityanath reported that the situation at the mela ground was under control and that the administration was providing all possible assistance to the affected families.
