New Delhi, Nov 18 (NationPress) - On Tuesday, the Union government issued a directive to all private satellite television networks urging them to show caution when airing news related to the Delhi Red Fort attack.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has observed that certain news channels are airing content that includes alleged individuals involved in the Red Fort blasts, justifying their violent actions, as well as instructional videos on how to create explosive materials.
Such transmissions could unintentionally serve to promote or incite violence, disrupt public order, and jeopardize national security, the advisory cautioned.
All television channels are recommended to uphold the utmost discretion and sensitivity in reporting these issues, as stated in the advisory.
"Broadcasters must adhere strictly to the Programme and Advertising Code established by the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act, 1995. Violations of the Cable Television Network Rules, specifically Rules 6(1)(d), 6(1)(e), and 6(1)(h), may occur with such broadcasts," it emphasized.
Following the Delhi Red Fort blast attributed to the Jaish-e-Mohammad module in Faridabad, intelligence agencies have been monitoring online propaganda materials.
In various security review meetings, high-ranking officials have indicated the necessity of overseeing both the news flow and the propaganda content being disseminated online.
Multiple Pakistan-based social media accounts are propagating false narratives online aimed at radicalizing Indian youth.
These accounts often utilize selectively edited clips from news broadcasts to fabricate a misleading narrative.
The Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) is reportedly planning a significant recruitment initiative across the country and aims to establish modules similar to those previously identified in Faridabad.
Investigations into the Delhi blasts are ongoing, confirming that the Jaish-e-Mohammad's Faridabad module executed the attack that resulted in the loss of over 13 lives.
