New Delhi/Ahmedabad, Sep 4 (NationPress) Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Thursday introduced the forthcoming Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conferences (VGRC) as a platform to highlight the state's industrial, economic, and cultural advantages, extending an invitation to prominent industry leaders to join the inaugural conference in North Gujarat next month.

During an interactive session with leading industrialists and business associations in Delhi, CM Patel articulated that Gujarat, guided by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has evolved into India’s growth engine since the inception of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in 2003.

The Chief Minister expressed his pride in unveiling the vision behind VGRC and reminisced how Prime Minister Modi initiated the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) in 2003, during his own tenure as Chief Minister, with the goal of placing Gujarat on the international industrial landscape.

“Vibrant Gujarat has consistently been a fusion of trade and tradition, commerce and culture, industry and entrepreneurship. The new regional conferences will capitalize on this success to foster growth at the regional level,” he remarked.

He pointed out that the production capabilities of regions like North Gujarat, South Gujarat, Saurashtra, and Central Gujarat frequently exceed that of entire states.

These regional summits will facilitate sector-specific investments and unlock new opportunities for MSMEs and related industries.

“The next phase of Gujarat’s journey will be fueled by future-ready mega projects such as GIFT City, Dholera SIR, SEMICON, greenfield ports, and renewable energy. The VGRC will serve as a bridge between regional strengths and global aspirations,” he added.

Themed “Regional Aspirations – Global Ambitions”, the VGRC will feature trade shows, exhibitions, and sector-focused seminars, offering a platform for local businesses to engage with investors.

Patel emphasized that the conferences align with the Prime Minister’s call for Vocal for Local, Local for Global and will significantly support Gujarat's contribution towards achieving a $3.5 trillion economy by 2047.

“The VGRC’s theme – Regional Aspirations, Global Ambitions – resonates with the Prime Minister’s call of Vocal for Local and Local for Global. This initiative will bolster Atmanirbhar Bharat and contribute to the vision of Developed India @2047,” he stated.

Chief Secretary Pankaj Joshi mentioned that the VGRC would act as a model for balanced and inclusive growth.

“Gujarat continues to lead in India’s ease of doing business rankings with initiatives like the Single Window Clearance Act and its digital investors’ facilitation portal. The state has also attracted investments in semiconductors, renewable energy, green hydrogen, defense, and aerospace. Regional conferences will extend this momentum to Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities,” he elaborated.

Union Industry Secretary Amardeep Singh Bhatia praised Gujarat for initiating this pioneering effort, stating it would create new opportunities for start-ups and industries in smaller cities and could motivate similar endeavors in other states. Industries Principal Secretary Mamta Verma explained the objectives of the VGRC, while Industries Commissioner Swaroop P presented the prospects for regional development.

Additional Chief Secretary to the CM M.K. Das, senior officials, and industry leaders including FICCI President Harsha Vardhan Agarwal and Hester Biosciences CEO Rajiv Gandhi were in attendance.

The inaugural Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference will take place in North Gujarat on October 9–10, followed by similar events in the other three regions of the state.
