Ahmedabad, Nov 11 (NationPress) The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) in collaboration with the National Book Trust (NBT), India, is set to host the 'Ahmedabad International Book Festival 2025' as part of the 'Vanche Gujarat 2.0' initiative. This vibrant 11-day literary celebration will take place from November 13 to 23 at the Sabarmati Riverfront Event Centre in Paldi, aiming to highlight Ahmedabad as India's first UNESCO World Heritage City on the global literary stage.
The festival spans over 1 lakh sq. ft. and will feature an extensive lineup of over 300 events, including cultural performances, workshops, and interactive sessions. Admission is free, with complimentary parking available through AMC.
The festival’s mission extends beyond literature; it seeks to convert the venue into Gujarat’s largest open classroom, inspiring students, educators, and community members to revel in the joy of learning.
The AMC has encouraged schools, colleges, teachers, and principals to engage actively in the Ahmedabad International Book Festival 2025.
Students from grades 1 to 12, as well as college attendees, can register free of charge to partake in sessions crafted to stimulate creativity and learning across various fields. The festival is organized into multiple educational zones: the Children's Corner (NCCL Pavilion) featuring storytelling, puppet theatre, mandala art, dance-drama, and creative reuse workshops.
The 'Gyaan Ganga Zone' will present daily writing and design studios centered on poetry, drama, film scripts, and biographies, alongside hands-on craft workshops such as terracotta horse-making, oil painting, and metal embossing. Concurrently, the School Board Pavilion will host city-level finals for inter-school mega contests, including quizzes, storytelling, fancy dress, panel discussions, and book-reading competitions scheduled from November 13 to 21.
The event also includes a complimentary Children's Film Festival, showcasing 4–7 award-winning films daily from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, along with evening cultural programs featuring performances by Kirtidan Gadhvi, poetic evenings with Ankit Trivedi, the Sandeep Christian Orchestra, a grand mushaira with esteemed poets, and 'Shaurya Samvad' sessions with Lt. Gen. (Retd.) KJS Dhillon and IPS (Retd.) K. Vijay Kumar. College students will also have the opportunity to interact with Acharya Prashant, Gurcharan Das, Nitin Sethi, and Kulpreet Yadav, attending live sessions on AI, crime journalism, and the Gandhi–Mandela legacy, along with on-spot internships and content-writing opportunities with publishers.
To participate, schools and colleges are required to complete a single Google form, select their preferred date and zone, and receive bus parking slots and teacher passes via a confirmation email. Entry is complimentary for students in uniform and their accompanying teachers (1:15 ratio) with valid ID cards.
