Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Feb 16 (NationPress) The AI Impact Summit 2026 has unequivocally positioned India on the international stage concerning discussions around artificial intelligence and technology governance, according to Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha on Monday.
During his speech at the summit, Chadha noted that India is increasingly recognized as a significant participant in global conversations regarding the governance, development, and utilization of artificial intelligence for public benefit.
He emphasized, “Artificial intelligence is no longer merely a technological concern but a strategic imperative.”
Chadha pointed out that nations boasting robust computing power and infrastructure are poised to dominate globally in the forthcoming years.
“The capacity for processing and the state of digital infrastructure will determine which countries lead in the AI epoch,” he asserted.
He also highlighted what he referred to as three global monopolies in the realm of artificial intelligence.
“The control over AI design is held by a select few companies, manufacturing is confined to limited regions, and export restrictions are enforced through policies such as those from the United States,” Chadha remarked.
While he acknowledged that India does not yet command these three crucial aspects, he stressed the nation's substantial advantage in human capital.
Highlighting India's talent pool, Chadha pointed out that there is a growing global demand for AI professionals and skilled workforce from India. Yet, he cautioned that mere talent is insufficient.
“Talent without computational resources is just aspiration,” he noted, advocating for India to secure access to high-end computing capabilities, diversify supply chains, and establish robust domestic infrastructure to truly compete on the global front.
In a historical context, Chadha likened the defining resources of the 20th century, such as oil, gas, and steel, to the emerging significance of artificial intelligence and semiconductor production in determining geopolitical power in the 21st century.
He concluded by emphasizing that India must take decisive action to cement its role in this evolving global landscape.
Earlier, Chadha expressed his enthusiasm on X regarding his participation in the AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam.
“This is a pivotal moment for shaping AI in the interest of the public. It will dictate how we govern, develop, and safeguard our citizens in the future,” the Rajya Sabha member stated.
