Bhopal, Dec 14 (NationPress) The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhopal has launched Panchakarma therapies, a vital element of Ayurvedic medicine on Saturday.
Panchakarma, a holistic detoxification and rejuvenation therapy rooted in Ayurveda, provides a comprehensive approach to wellness by addressing the health of the body, mind, and spirit.
AIIMS Bhopal will also provide a diverse array of Ayurvedic therapy services designed to enhance health and well-being.
According to the Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal, Dr. Ajay Singh, Panchakarma treatment, which is based on ancient Ayurvedic principles, offers a distinctive and effective means to detoxify and refresh the body.
He emphasized that the introduction of Panchakarma services at AIIMS Bhopal will combine the best of traditional and modern medicine for patients visiting the facility.
"The launch of Panchakarma facilities at AIIMS Bhopal represents a significant advancement in our objective to provide holistic healthcare. We are dedicated to offering our patients a comprehensive approach to health and wellness," he stated.
Dr. Singh explained that the Panchakarma program at AIIMS Bhopal will encompass five fundamental therapies:
Sudation therapy: This treatment promotes sweating through steam applications, facilitating detoxification by opening pores and expelling toxins from the body.
Shirodhara: A deeply relaxing therapy where medicated oil, milk, or buttermilk is poured in a continuous stream onto the forehead, promoting profound relaxation, mental clarity, and stress relief.
Hydrotherapy: Utilizing the physical properties of water, including temperature and pressure, hydrotherapy enhances blood circulation, alleviates symptoms of various conditions, and fosters overall health.
Snehana: This involves applying herbal and mineral-based oils to the body that penetrate deeply into tissues, imparting medicinal properties to every cell and loosening toxins trapped within.
Swedana: Fomentation therapies are employed to induce sweating, softening tissues to enhance flexibility and helping to liquefy and expel toxins from the body.
Dr. Singh further noted that Panchakarma offers numerous benefits, including complete body detoxification, toxin elimination, increased metabolic rate, weight reduction, improved digestion, relaxation of the mind and body, tissue regeneration, enhanced immunity, and stress alleviation.
