New Delhi, Nov 13 (NationPress) The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) has promptly suspended the membership of Al-Falah University located in Faridabad, Haryana, effective immediately as of Thursday. This decision, communicated through an official correspondence dated November 13, 2025, comes after the institution faced significant scrutiny in connection with the terror investigation linked to the tragic Red Fort car explosion that occurred in Delhi on November 10.

Referring to its regulations, the AIU indicated that this action was taken based on "media reports," suggesting that the university "does not seem to maintain good standing." The university gained national attention after it surfaced that Dr. Umar Un Nabi, the main suspect in the November 10 incident, had ties to this institution, along with other alleged accomplices Dr. Muzammil Ganaie and Dr. Shaheen Sayeed.

Consequently, due to the suspension, Al-Falah University is barred from using the AIU name or logo in any of its functions and must expeditiously remove the logo from its official website.

The official letter stated, "Furthermore, it is notified that Al-Falah University, Faridabad, Haryana, is not permitted to use the AIU name or logo in its activities, and the AIU logo must be removed from the university’s website immediately."

Earlier in the day, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), based in Bengaluru, issued a show cause notice to the Al-Falah School of Engineering and Technology in Fatehpur for misleadingly claiming and promoting that the colleges operated by the university are NAAC accredited.

Located approximately 27 km from the Haryana-Delhi border on Raga Road, District Faridabad, Dhauj, Al-Falah University has recently been in the national media spotlight due to alarming events, including a substantial recovery of explosives and the devastating blast near the historic Red Fort in Delhi that resulted in 12 fatalities, numerous injuries, and sent shockwaves throughout the nation.
