Patna, Oct 19 (NationPress) The BJP criticized the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar on Sunday for its failure to establish seat-sharing agreements, questioning how parties that cannot reach an agreement can hope to advance the state.
The party claimed that the ongoing disputes among alliance partners stem from dynastic politics entrenched in each member of the coalition.
The Mahagathbandhan, which includes significant players such as the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress, and the Left, has yet to achieve a consensus, with smaller allies also expressing concerns regarding their share in the 243-member Bihar Assembly.
BJP national spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told IANS that the Mahagathbandhan is plagued by internal strife.
"The so-called Mahagathbandhan in Bihar seems ensnared in its own web of confusion and contradictions. The partners in the alliance appear tangled in a mess of internal strife, as the very foundation of their coalition is riddled with fractures and gaps," he stated.
"There are strong ambitions and mutual disagreements among the alliance partners, and by the time they manage to resolve these conflicts, the elections might very well be concluded -- and perhaps, so might their coalition," he added.
Naqvi noted that the issue lies in the dynastic mentality that dominates the coalition.
"These self-proclaimed heirs of political legacy, the default dynasts, think that a bit of noise and publicity will create electoral magic. However, rather than conjuring any miracles or upheaval, they seem to be heading towards their own political demise," he remarked.
BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh informed IANS that the Mahagathbandhan lacks a vision for Bihar's development.
"An alliance that cannot even achieve internal consensus or function collaboratively -- how can they offer stability, leadership, or development for a vast state like Bihar? Instead of tackling public concerns, these leaders are entangled in a struggle over tickets and positions. This reflects their true mindset; they lack a vision to propel Bihar forward," he stated.
"Their only focus is the jungle raj, and the citizens of Bihar are aware of it. Thus, the people will once again reject them," he concluded.
BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy also criticized the alliance, stating, "Mahagathbandhan is not a coalition of any political party; it is an alliance of family parties. Congress, RJD, and JMM -- all are rooted in family-driven politics. This is why there is no compromise among them. These parties lack political principles."
