Mumbai, Nov 10 (NationPress) In the midst of a heated dispute regarding the Pune land transaction tied to Ajit Pawar's son, Parth Pawar, NCP-SP Chief Sharad Pawar convened with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at his official residence on Monday.
Sources indicate that this meeting was centered around the upcoming elections for the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), which are scheduled for Wednesday.
The discussion lasted approximately 15 minutes, after which Sharad Pawar proceeded to his office at the YB Chavan Centre, located near Mantralaya.
Insiders suggest that a variety of topics, including the MCA elections, were likely on the agenda during this encounter.
Post-meeting, Pawar contacted the panel contesting the MCA election, hinting that specific candidates may be requested to retract their nominations.
Although Fadnavis has yet to assign his panel, his backing is expected to play a pivotal role in the MCA elections.
This meeting follows Sharad Pawar's comments on Saturday regarding the escalating Pune land deal controversy involving Deputy CM Ajit Pawar's son Parth Pawar's associated firm, Amedea Enterprises LLP. He noted that Fadnavis has labeled it a serious matter, advocating for an investigation to reveal the truth to the public.
The NCP-SP Chief stated, "I cannot comment extensively on this. However, the Chief Minister has deemed it a serious issue and has called for an inquiry to present the facts to society."
"The state government has initiated an inquiry committee on this subject. Hence, we should await the revelations from the committee's report," he elaborated.
On Sunday, Ajit Pawar defended his son and pointed fingers at the sub-registrar responsible for the sale deed registration.
The Deputy CM asserted that the investigation ordered by Chief Minister Fadnavis would unveil the facts.
The land in question was acquired by Amedea Enterprises LLP, where Parth Pawar holds a 99% stake.
The Maharashtra Revenue Department has suspended sub-registrar Ravindra Taru for alleged misconduct during the registration of the 44-acre Mahar Watan land, which has a market value exceeding Rs 1,800 crore.
Taru is also accused of exempting the Rs 21-crore stamp duty on the Rs 300-crore land transaction.
Law enforcement has initiated actions against multiple individuals, including Parth Pawar's associate Digvijay Patil and Sheetal Tejwani, concerning this alleged land scam.
