New Delhi, Nov 11 (NationPress) The All India Congress Committee has appointed 27 new District Congress Committee presidents across Uttarakhand, effective immediately, as part of a significant organizational restructuring under the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan.

This decision, sanctioned by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and communicated through a press release by General Secretary KC Venugopal on Tuesday, follows a thorough consultative process involving AICC observers, district-level evaluations, and direct discussions with senior leaders.

The appointments encompass every district and crucial urban centres in the state, combining seasoned party members with emerging talents to enhance grassroots engagement in anticipation of upcoming electoral challenges.

Bhupendra Singh Bhoj will lead in Almora, while Arjun Chandra Bhatt takes the helm in Bageshwar. Suresh Dimri is appointed president for Chamoli, and Chirag Singh Fartyal for Champawat. In Dehradun City, Dr Jasvinder Singh Gogi will oversee the committee, with Govind Singh Bisht appointed for Haldwani City.

Urban constituencies see significant appointments with Alka Pal designated for Kashipur City and Mamta Rani for Rudrapur City. Uttam Aswal is assigned to Devprayag, while Manohar Singh Tolia takes charge in Didihat. Haridwar district will be headed by Baleshwar Singh, and Aman Garg will manage the city unit. Vikas Negi and Meena Devi have been appointed for Kotdwar and Kotdwar City, respectively.

Rahul Chhimwal will manage Nainital, followed by Sanjay Kishore in Pacchwadoon and Mohit Uniyal in Parwadoon. Vinod Singh Negi will steer Pauri Garhwal, Mukesh Pant Pithoragarh, and Dinesh Chouhan Purola. Deepak Kirola is set to lead Ranikhet, Furkan Ahmed will oversee Roorkee, and Rajendra Kumar Chaudhary will manage Roorkee City. Kuldeep Kandari will take charge of Rudraprayag, Murari Lal Khandwal will lead Tehri Garhwal, and Himanshu Gaba will manage Udhamsingh Nagar, with Pradeep Singh Rawat appointed for Uttarkashi.

This restructuring arrives at a pivotal time as the Congress seeks to revitalize its organizational framework in Uttarakhand, where it has encountered electoral challenges in recent years.

The AICC has instructed the newly appointed presidents to swiftly form block and mandal committees and launch membership drives. Regular performance assessments will be instituted to ensure accountability.
