Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Feb 10 (NationPress) On Tuesday, the Indian National Congress reiterated its commitment to revitalizing its organizational structure at the district level by hosting a successful one-day intensive training session for new District Congress Committee (DCC) Presidents from eight different states, as part of the ongoing Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan.
A total of 286 DCC Presidents attended the event at Indira Bhawan, where Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi shared vital strategies and insights.
Additionally, senior party leaders offered mentorship to the newly appointed members, focusing on strengthening the booth-to-district framework and enhancing grassroots engagement.
“The Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan is a pivotal initiative aimed at fortifying our grassroots organization. To date, we have completed five phases across 14 states, resulting in the appointment of 531 DCC Presidents. The next phase is currently in progress in 218 districts across 6 more states,” remarked KC Venugopal, Secretary General of the All India Congress Committee, on his X handle.
This initiative was launched as a significant effort to rebuild and invigorate the party from the grassroots level, with five phases already completed across 14 states and the appointment of 531 DCC Presidents through a transparent, merit-based process that involved thorough field evaluations.
To ensure transparency and commitment, AICC observers—including Central Working Committee members, former PCC Presidents, MPs, and MLAs—have dedicated extensive time to conducting on-ground assessments, consultations, and recommendations.
“The Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan is crucial for solidifying our grassroots organization. Currently, 284 AICC Observers, including CWC Members, former PCC Presidents, MPs, and MLAs, have collectively spent 2,604 days in the field to guarantee transparency and organizational growth,” he added.
Following the appointments, the party has successfully conducted 10-day training camps for 172 DCCs across four states.
The next series of comprehensive training sessions is scheduled to commence on February 21 in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, as Venugopal further stated.
