New Delhi/Raipur, Oct 23 (NationPress) In a concerted effort to bolster its grassroots presence in anticipation of upcoming electoral contests, the Indian National Congress convened a pivotal meeting in Delhi as part of its ongoing Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan for the Chhattisgarh unit.

The session was spearheaded by All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary and Chhattisgarh in-charge Sachin Pilot, alongside senior Congress leaders and AICC-affiliated observers, to discuss the selection of new District Congress Committee (DCC) Presidents.

AICC General Secretary KC Venugopal shared on his X account, "As part of our Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan in Chhattisgarh, I held one-on-one meetings along with GS In-charge Sachin Pilot ji with AICC observers assigned to Chhattisgarh and senior leaders to deliberate on the appointment of new DCC Presidents."

The gathering, hosted at the AICC headquarters in Indira Bhawan, emphasized individualized discussions with observers and state leadership to ensure a transparent and merit-based selection process.

This initiative is part of a broader organizational overhaul across key states, including Rajasthan and Telangana, aimed at invigorating the party’s district-level operations and enhancing its electoral readiness.

The Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan is intended to "revitalize the party’s structure at the grassroots level" by appointing dynamic and locally respected figures to lead district units.

The campaign is being supervised by AICC General Secretary (Organisation) K.C. Venugopal, who has sanctioned the deployment of observers in various states to aid the process.

In Chhattisgarh, notable leaders such as Umang Singhar, Leader of Opposition in Madhya Pradesh, and former MLA Hina Kawre have been appointed as observers.

Their responsibilities include assessing local leadership, performing field evaluations, and recommending suitable candidates for DCC positions.

Sachin Pilot, who recently led the ‘Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhor’ campaign in Chhattisgarh, is actively engaging with party workers and stakeholders throughout the state.

His presence in the capital underscores the priority the Congress is placing on internal consolidation and leadership renewal in the region.

The Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan is anticipated to result in the prompt appointment of new DCC Presidents, aiming to establish a more responsive and resilient organizational framework.

Insiders suggest that the new appointees will be chosen based on "grassroots connection, performance history, and their capacity to garner support" in their specific districts.

This renewed emphasis on internal restructuring comes at a crucial time as the Congress prepares for significant assembly elections and strives to regain its influence in states where it has recently experienced setbacks.
