New Delhi, Oct 4 (NationPress) In a significant organisational shift aimed at bolstering grassroots leadership, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) has revealed the appointment of new Presidents for the District Congress Committees throughout Jharkhand.
The changes, greenlit by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, were announced via a press release from AICC General Secretary (Organisation) K.C. Venugopal on Saturday. This reshuffle is part of the party’s ambitious Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan, a nationwide campaign focused on revitalising the Congress framework from the ground up.
During the campaign, AICC Observers conducted thorough field visits, consulted with local party members, and compiled detailed reports.
These insights were followed by one-on-one talks with senior leaders before the finalisation of the district-level appointments. A total of 25 district presidents have been appointed, showcasing a blend of experienced leaders and emerging figures.
Notable appointments include Stephen Marandi in Dumka, Sanjay Singh for Ranchi Mahanagar, and Deepika Besra in Jamtara — one of the few women to be given district leadership roles.
The list also highlights Mukund Dass and Santosh Kumar Singh, both chosen for Dhanbad, indicating a dual leadership strategy in crucial urban areas.
Other appointees consist of Jawahar Lal Mehta (Bokaro), Chandradev Gope (Chatra), Parvinder Singh (East Singhbhum), E. Obaidullah Haq Ansari (Garhwa), Satish Kedia (Giridih), Md. Yahya Siddiqui (Godda), Rajneel Tigga (Gumla), JP Patel (Hazaribagh), Ramesh Kumar (Khunti), Prakash Rajak (Koderma), Kameshwar Yadav (Latehar), Rakesh Roshan (Lohardaga), Babulal (Pakur), Vijay Kumar Pathak (Palamu), Rajesh Gupta (Ramgarh), Alok Dubey (Ranchi), Naresh Kumar (Sahebganj), Rakesh Sahu (Saraikela), Raju Bhagat (Simdega), and Sushil Kumar Singh (West Singhbhum).
This new leadership is anticipated to play a crucial role in energising the party’s foundation in preparation for upcoming electoral challenges.
Given that Jharkhand is a politically sensitive region characterised by tribal representation, industrial sectors, and intricate governance issues, the Congress is counting on localised leadership to regain lost influence. These appointments indicate a renewed commitment to accountability, inclusivity, and strategic outreach.
By decentralising decision-making and empowering district units, the Congress aims to strengthen its cadre base and re-establish connections with voters at the grassroots level.
