Amaravati, Dec 4 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, announced on Thursday that over half of the MoUs established during the recent CII Partnership Summit are progressing towards approval. He urged officials to ensure that the groundbreaking for these initiatives occurs within 45 days.
During the 13th State Level Investment Board (SIPB) meeting at the Secretariat, the SIPB sanctioned investments totaling Rs. 20,444 crore, which is expected to create more than 56,000 jobs.
Approval was granted to six firms that signed agreements at the Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam. The Chief Minister reviewed all the agreements made during the summit.
He pointed out that prominent companies are opting for Andhra Pradesh due to the government’s efficient business practices. “We are providing essential resources like water, electricity, land, and comprehensive support. Our commitment to transparency is attracting new projects to our state. Previous disruptions had adversely affected investor confidence, even in nations such as Singapore. We have restored the reputation of AP, which explains the strong turnout at the recent summit,” he remarked.
The Chief Minister noted that agreements worth Rs. 7.69 crore have already transitioned into implementation within just 20 days following the Visakhapatnam Partnership Conference. Specific districts have been identified, and land allocation processes have commenced.
He instructed officials to promptly register the remaining MoUs and ensure that all projects are initiated within 45 days.
“We must establish the foundation stones for 75 MSME parks before the forthcoming World Economic Forum Summit in Davos. The Chief Secretary should conduct weekly reviews of MoU groundwork, and I will personally assess SIPB decisions and MoUs. District collectors are also tasked with overseeing progress,” he stated.
He directed officials to formulate a policy for establishing industries and present it to the Cabinet. A monitoring framework should involve the Chief Minister, Cabinet Sub-Committee, Chief Secretary, ministers, and senior officials. He emphasized that land acquisition must be seamless, ensuring satisfaction for both land providers and recipients.
The Chief Minister reiterated that all sanctioned industries should be set up within the proposed timelines, and regular oversight is essential. He stressed that Andhra Pradesh is transitioning towards a knowledge-based economy and that government departments must enhance their technological capabilities.
He further emphasized the necessity of a skilled workforce to foster innovation, calling for training programs for the youth to prepare them for future demands.
He proposed the creation of a Logistics University, Civil Aviation University, and a Green Energy University. An advisory committee for Quantum Valley will be established to oversee mentoring, monitoring, and venture capital initiatives, while the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub will support startups.
He also suggested a strategic allocation of the six towers in Quantum Valley, with two focused on quantum algorithms, two on artificial intelligence, and the remaining two on other emerging technologies, ensuring a well-rounded emphasis on innovation and research.
Additionally, he mandated that AI fundamentals be introduced in schools from Class 7 onward, with a collaborative team formed with Microsoft and Google.
