Amaravati, Sep 18 (NationPress) The Andhra Pradesh Assembly session, which commenced on Thursday, is set to run until September 30.
There will be breaks for the House on September 20, 21, and 28. Daily sessions will occur from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This decision was made during a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC), presided over by Speaker Ayyanna Patrudu.
In attendance were Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Legislative Affairs Minister Pyyavula Keshav, and Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar, who represent Jana Sena and BJP.
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP), leading the coalition government, has proposed 18 topics for discussion, while BJP has put forward nine.
The Chief Minister has urged ministers to be present during the question hour and zero hour.
According to BAC agreements, the Assembly will discuss Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms later today.
Debates are scheduled on water resources on September 19 and law and order on September 22.
Discussions will focus on public health on September 23, industry on September 24, Super-6 on September 25, Quantum Valley on September 26, logistics on September 27, Swarnandhra on September 29, and on the development of Rayalaseema, the coastal region, and north Andhra on September 30.
The YSR Congress Party, the sole opposition, did not participate in the BAC meeting, as it continues to boycott the Assembly session, demanding Leader of Opposition status for its leader, Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Jagan Mohan Reddy stated last week that attending the Assembly session is pointless without LoP status.
He emphasized that proper status is necessary for the party to address public concerns effectively.
The YSRCP leader asserted that the responsibility of voicing citizens' issues lies with the opposition, and failure to respect democracy reflects a lack of wisdom.
Furthermore, he noted that the LoP status issue is currently pending in the High Court.
Jagan filed a petition last July seeking a direction for the state government to designate him as the LoP.
Additionally, the Legislative Council session also commenced on Thursday.
