Amaravati, Sep 22 (NationPress) The government of Andhra Pradesh is set to initiate a comprehensive month-long campaign to enhance awareness regarding the GST reforms that took effect on Monday.
Officials have planned to conduct approximately 65,000 meetings from now until the Diwali festival. A significant aspect of this initiative includes a door-to-door outreach aimed at enlightening residents about the benefits of the GST reductions on essential goods, household items, medications, and numerous other products.
This initiative was revealed by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu during an Assembly session on Monday.
He stated that display boards will be established across various locations showcasing the reduced prices of goods. Educational institutions will also host events related to the campaign. The Chief Minister urged all MLAs and ministers to actively participate in the GST promotion efforts.
While conveying his wishes for Dussehra and Diwali, the Chief Minister encouraged people to celebrate the upcoming festivals joyfully, capitalizing on the reduced prices facilitated by the consumer-friendly GST reforms.
He expressed optimism that the GST 2.0 reforms will bolster the Make in India initiative and support the enhancement of domestic production. The Chief Minister is confident that these reforms will elevate Indian brands on the global stage and foster a self-reliant economy.
He urged citizens to support Indian-made products, thereby contributing to the growth of the Indian economy. He envisions India becoming the leading economy by 2047, with Andhra Pradesh at the forefront. The GST reforms are seen as pivotal for the state's objective of realizing the one family, one entrepreneur initiative.
A ministerial committee, which includes Payyavula Kesav, Nara Lokesh, Kandula Durgesh, Satyakumar Yadav, and Vangalapudi Anitha, has been formed to ensure the success of the month-long GST campaign.
Emphasizing that the GST reforms will positively impact all demographics, the Chief Minister noted that the reforms could generate an economic benefit of Rs 2.25 lakh crore for the nation and Rs 8000 crore for Andhra Pradesh, while significantly boosting the MSME sector.
Chandrababu Naidu, whose Telugu Desam Party (TDP) plays a crucial role in the NDA government at the national level and heads the ruling coalition in the state, claimed that the double-engine government will facilitate substantial growth through the GST reforms.
