Ranchi, Nov 17 (NationPress) Frustrated by the extended delays in the announcement of recruitment results, hundreds of aspirants initiated a satyagraha in front of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) headquarters on Monday.
The demonstrators are urging for the swift release of the overdue exam results.
The candidates pointed out that it has been over a year since the examinations were held for positions like Food Safety Officer and Child Development Project Officer (CDPO).
Despite numerous requests, the Commission has not disclosed the results or clarified when they will be made available.
The candidates expressed that the recruitment process has been ongoing since 2023, with the main examination conducted in 2024, yet the results are still pending without any official reasoning.
“The entire exam schedule has fallen apart. We have been existing in uncertainty for several months,” stated one of the candidates at the protest.
A group of protesters met with JPSC officials later in the day. As per the candidates, the officials once again guaranteed that the results would be announced “soon,” but no written assurance or specific timeline was offered.
“For months, we have been receiving the same verbal commitment. We will not cease our protest until the Commission provides a formal, written announcement,” claimed one of the aspirants.
Many candidates raised concerns about the lack of clarity regarding the delays. They argued that the evaluation of the answer sheets had already been finalized and that there were no apparent technical issues.
“If the exams are completed and the evaluation is done, what is hindering the Commission from releasing the results? This silence raises serious doubts,” a protesting student remarked.
Numerous aspirants mentioned that the extended waiting period is jeopardizing their opportunities in upcoming recruitment cycles. With age limits nearing for various categories, candidates fear missing future prospects due to the unpredictability surrounding JPSC’s recruitment schedule.
The protest remained peaceful, with demonstrators chanting slogans like “Results Do, JPSC!” and “Declare Our Future!”
Participants characterized their agitation as a satyagraha, stating they would persist indefinitely until a definitive date for the result declaration is set.
As of now, no formal statement has been issued by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission.
