This event unveiled the 'Indian Mango Mania 2025', a colorful in-store mango festival organized in collaboration with the Embassy of India in the UAE and the Lulu Group. Coinciding with the height of the mango season, this initiative seeks to present India's finest mango varieties to global customers, particularly the substantial Indian community residing in the UAE and the Gulf region.

Featured premium Indian mango varieties included GI-tagged and regional specialties such as Banarasi Langda, Dasheri, Chausa, Sunderja, Amrapali, Malda, Bharat Bhog, Prabha Shankar, Lakshman Bhog, Mahmood Bahar, Vrindavani, Fasli, and Mallika.

The UAE stands as the leading export destination for Indian mangoes. In 2024, India exported more than 12,000 MT of mangoes valued at $20 million to the UAE, reflecting a robust demand for this exquisite fruit.

The campaign was officially launched by the Indian Ambassador to the UAE, Sunjay Sudhir, at the LuLu Hypermarket in Khalidiyah Mall, Abu Dhabi, alongside Lulu Group Chairman, Yusuff Ali M.A.

During his address, the ambassador emphasized that Lulu has been instrumental in promoting Indian products globally and noted APEDA's crucial role in connecting Indian mango growers to UAE markets. "This festival will deliver the freshness and richness of Indian mangoes, particularly from states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, and the Eastern region, to households across the Gulf," he stated.

Lulu Group Chairman, Yusuff Ali, reiterated the group's dedication to bolstering India-Gulf market connections. "Lulu is honored to exhibit the best of India through our retail outlets across the UAE and Gulf area," he remarked.

APEDA Chairman Abhishek Dev, in a statement, reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the export of agricultural and processed food items, including premium horticultural products like mangoes. "APEDA has facilitated the airlifting of various mango varieties from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and Madhya Pradesh. This initiative not only celebrates India's mango diversity but also creates significant export opportunities for Indian farmers and supports the agricultural community," he noted.

Beyond fresh fruit displays, the promotion also included an array of mango-flavored culinary delights, such as pastries, Swiss rolls, doughnuts, macarons, mango bread, and cakes. Traditional Indian dishes like Mambazha payasam, mango pulao, mango fish curry, mango chutney, snacks, salads, along with pickles and preserves were showcased.
