He emphasized, "It is my duty to safeguard it, and I will be at the forefront against any attack on it."
In a detailed statement on X, LoP Gandhi declared, "The Constitution of India is not merely a document; it is a holy promise made to each citizen of the nation." He underscored that this foundational text ensures equality and dignity for all, regardless of caste, religion, region, language, or financial status.
"A commitment that guarantees that irrespective of one’s religion or caste, region of origin, spoken language, or socio-economic condition, every individual will receive equality, respect, and justice," he elaborated.
Referring to the Constitution as a protective shield for the underprivileged, LoP Gandhi stated that it embodies the strength and voice of every citizen. He called upon the public to uphold its essential values.
"As long as the Constitution is upheld, the rights of every Indian remain intact. Let us vow to reject any form of assault on the Constitution. It is my duty to defend it, and I will stand firmly against every attack on it," stated Rahul Gandhi.
In his message, he wished everyone, saying, "Warm greetings to all on Constitution Day. Jai Hind, Jai Constitution."
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also shared a message on X, reflecting on Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s words: "The Constitution is not just a document for lawyers; it is a way of life, and its spirit remains unchanging."
Kharge paid homage to prominent figures of the freedom struggle and the Constituent Assembly, including Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel, Subhas Chandra Bose, Maulana Azad, Rajendra Prasad, Sarojini Naidu, and Ambedkar, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding the Constitution’s guiding principles of justice, equality, liberty, fraternity, secularism, and socialism.

In 2015, the Indian Government officially recognized this day as Constitution Day to promote constitutional values and pay tribute to Dr. Ambedkar’s 125th birth anniversary.
