Guwahati, May 9 (NationPress) In light of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has made a heartfelt appeal for the cancellation of Bihu festival celebrations within the state.
“Throughout the past month, we have joyously commemorated Bihu across Assam with numerous cultural events. I extend my sincere gratitude to everyone for their enthusiastic involvement and contributions. However, the time has now arrived to conclude this festive season. I respectfully request that all remaining Bihu events scheduled from 10th May onwards be cancelled. Let’s conclude this vibrant celebration gracefully, embodying the same unity and spirit with which it was celebrated,” CM Sarma expressed.
