New Delhi, April 28 (NationPress) The Delhi government has launched its significant health insurance initiative, distributing Ayushman health cards to senior citizens aged 70 and above, thus granting them access to free medical treatment worth up to Rs 10 lakh.

The Ayushman Vay Vandana Scheme, designed to benefit six lakh individuals in phases, is part of the BJP’s pre-election commitments, instrumental in ending a 27-year political dry spell in Delhi.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed, “For the elderly of Delhi, lakhs will finally access all medical facilities at no cost. The elderly are pleased with this initiative, and we will ensure more hospitals are integrated into the program.”

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri praised the Chief Minister for the swift implementation of the Ayushman Yojana.

“I extend my congratulations to CM Rekha Gupta for launching the Ayushman Vay Vandana Scheme within just two months of assuming office.
