Kolkata, Oct 29 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a fierce critique against the West Bengal government and the Trinamool Congress on Wednesday, following reports of the vandalism and decapitation of idols of Goddess Jagatdhatri at Mandirbazar in the Diamond Harbour Lok Sabha constituency of South 24 Parganas district. They asserted that the state government, led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, has devolved into a "hotbed of Bangladesh-style radicalism."
BJP's Information Technology Cell Chief and the party's central observer for West Bengal, Amit Malviya, shared a video on his official social media account regarding the incident, which allegedly occurred on Tuesday night.

Just last night at Mandirbazar in Diamond Harbour, idols of Maa Jagaddhatri were vandalized, heads severed, and faith desecrated. This horrific assault on Hindu beliefs flourishes under Mamata's overt Muslim appeasement and police complicity," Malviya expressed on his official X account.
In his social media commentary, Malviya also contended that the incident is not surprising given that “the proportion of Muslim voters in Diamond Harbour—where this unfortunate event took place—has risen to 41% since 2002.”
