Bengaluru, Oct 10 (NationPress) A bank manager was discovered dead in the restroom of a pub in Bengaluru, as confirmed by the police on Friday.
The authorities have initiated a case regarding unnatural death and are actively probing the incident.
The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Megharaj, who was employed as a bank manager at Jana Small Bank.
DCP (West) S. Girish reported that, "Last night (Thursday, October 9) at 1522 Bar within the jurisdiction of RR Nagar police station, a man named Megharaj, aged 31, visited the bar accompanied by three friends.
After enjoying their meal and settling the bill, Megharaj proceeded to the restroom while his friends exited the bar."
“After a period of waiting, his friends returned to search for Megharaj. Reviewing the CCTV footage revealed that he had entered the restroom and locked himself inside. Upon forcing open the door, they discovered that he had passed away,” stated DCP Girish.
The Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO) arrived at the location alongside local law enforcement.
A case of unnatural death has been registered under Section 174 (C) of the BNS Act based on a complaint from the victim's brother, Vinay. The precise cause of death will be determined following a postmortem examination, DCP Girish indicated.
Megharaj is survived by his wife and a six-month-old child. Ongoing investigations are in progress.
In a previous incident on June 22, 2019, a marketing manager and his female companion tragically died after falling from a window at Beir Pub on Church Street while descending the stairs. The deceased were identified as Pavan Attavar, a marketing manager at a media organization, and Veda R Yadav, a software engineer.
