Approximately 65,000 government schools are set to undergo repairs, painting, and festive lighting as part of the celebrations for the festival of lights.
The campaign will unfold in two phases. The initial phase, running from October 11 to October 18, will concentrate on repairs and painting. The subsequent phase, extending from October 18 until Diwali, will focus on the installation of eye-catching lighting fixtures in all schools.
This initiative marks the first comprehensive festival-oriented transformation within the state’s government education sector.
The Education Department will offer financial support ranging from Rs 15,000 to Rs 2 lakh per school, based on the size and specific requirements of each institution.
The aim is to foster a vibrant and inviting atmosphere for students, staff, and the local community during this festive season.
Education Minister Madan Dilawar stated that this initiative is part of the government's larger mission to enhance the quality and perception of government schools in Rajasthan.
He underscored the importance of adhering strictly to the Rajasthan Public Procurement Transparency Act, 2012, and the General Financial and Accounting Rules, 2013. To maintain visual consistency across the state, specific color schemes have been mandated.
Government Higher Secondary Schools will be painted in light yellow, while government primary schools will feature a light pink hue.
Officials have been directed to complete all repairs and painting by October 18. Afterward, decorative lighting will be installed, providing schools with a festive and celebratory appearance for Diwali. This campaign is designed not only to enhance the beauty of the schools but also to inspire a sense of pride and celebration among students and educators throughout Rajasthan.
