Amaravati, July 9 (NationPress) Nara Bhuvaneswari, the wife of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, expressed her strong disapproval of the alleged derogatory remarks made by YSR Congress Party leader and former MLA Nallapureddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy against Telugu Desam Party MLA Vemireddy Prashanthi Reddy.
Bhuvaneswari took to the social media platform 'X' on Wednesday to voice her condemnation of the comments made by the former MLA representing Kovur in the Nellore district.
"I stand with Kovvur MLA Smt. Prashanthi Reddy Garu and unequivocally condemn the derogatory statements directed at her. Such comments reveal a troubling anti-woman sentiment embedded in the institutions they stem from and are unacceptable in our society," Bhuvaneswari, who serves as the Vice-Chairperson and Managing Director of Heritage Foods Limited, posted.
"Women lead with strength, integrity, and merit. Derogatory language cannot undermine our worth or crush our spirit. Our culture cherishes and honors respect for women. Any attempt to diminish that must be denounced by all. Today and always, we unite against this mentality, affirming support for every woman's dignity," she added.
Bhuvaneswari's sister, BJP MP Daggubati Purandeswari, also criticized the comments made by the YSRCP leader.
She remarked that the "inappropriate" remarks made by Prasannakumar Reddy, a six-time elected MLA, disregard his obligation towards women and are intolerable in a civilized society.
"We demand that he issue a public apology to Prashanthi Reddy Garu. On this occasion, I also state that if his wife or mother endorses his comments, I will retract my demand," stated Purandeswari, the MP from Rajahmundry.
Earlier, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu described the alleged derogatory comments against Prashanthi Reddy as "utterly disgusting". He asserted that strict legal action would be pursued against anyone who behaves inappropriately towards women.
In a post on 'X', he denounced the remarks made by Prasanna Kumar Reddy. "There has been no change in the behavior of YSRCP leaders. Insulting women, using abusive language, and belittling them have become the political ethos of that party," he stated.
"Degrading women and engaging in character assassination is deeply embedded in the YSRCP's identity. Although such actions contributed to their significant electoral defeat, there seems to be no alteration in their fundamental nature," the TDP chief commented.
"Are these individuals even human? Is this what politics has devolved into?" he questioned, expressing concern over personal attacks on women and violations of their dignity.
He urged every citizen to recognize what he termed a systematic conspiracy by the YSRCP to undermine women's dignity.
