Patna, June 25 (NationPress) On Wednesday, the Patna Police took into custody four minor boys after a report was lodged by the parents of a teenage girl, who accused the boys of gang rape.

The case is being treated with extreme sensitivity and is under the oversight of senior police officials in conjunction with the Juvenile Justice Board.

The complaint was filed at the Kotwali police station late Tuesday night, leading to an immediate registration of an FIR and a medical examination for the victim, according to Krishna Murari Prasad, SDPO-1 (Law and Order), Patna.

“Given the sensitive nature of the case, we swiftly registered an FIR and followed all necessary legal and medical procedures. Based on the girl's testimony, all four minors were detained and presented to the Juvenile Justice Board on Wednesday,” stated the SDPO.

Initial investigations revealed that the victim had befriended one of the accused via a social media platform (Instagram) about a month prior.

She subsequently met three other boys, who were friends of the first accused.

The police reported that the girl met the boys at a hotel just a few days ago and returned on Tuesday, the day the alleged incident took place.

Upon her return home that evening, she disclosed the incident to her parents, who then contacted the police.

The detained boys are in Classes 8 and 10.

Authorities confirmed that they are proceeding with the case according to juvenile justice protocols.

Woman police officer Shobha Kumari and ASI Rajeev Ranjan from Kotwali police station assisted the girl in providing her statement to the Juvenile Justice Board.

The FIR has been filed under applicable sections of the BNS and POCSO Act, based on the minor girl’s account and the medical report.

“All elements of the case, including the nature of relationships and events at the hotel, are being comprehensively examined,” added SDPO Prasad.

The authorities have committed to conducting a thorough and fair investigation, ensuring that legal procedures adhere to juvenile justice standards.
