Patna, Feb 7 (NationPress) A group of thirty NDA MPs from Bihar convened with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Friday, expressing their gratitude by presenting him with traditional artifacts from their state, while also acknowledging the significant budget increase.

The delegation included 12 members each from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Janata Dal (United), alongside five representatives from the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and one from the Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular).

During their meeting, the MPs gifted PM Modi with traditional Bihar items, such as Madhubani paintings, shawls, and foxnuts.

Among the MPs present were Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, LJP(RV) National President and Union Minister Chirag Paswan, JD(U) MP from Supaul Lovely Anand, Darbhanga MP Gopal Jee Thakur, BJP's Begusarai MP Giriraj Singh, BJP's Saran MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy, and LJPRV's Jamui MP Arun Bharti.

In the recently presented Union Budget for 2025-26, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman unveiled various initiatives that reflect the government's dedication to the development of the state.

She declared the establishment of a Makhana (foxnut) board, the creation of a National Food Technology Institute in Bihar aimed at enhancing the food processing sector and generating job opportunities, as well as the expansion of IIT-Patna through improved infrastructure and academic programs to promote higher education and research.

A specific budget has also been allocated for the enhancement of the Western Kosi Canal, which is anticipated to improve irrigation infrastructure and benefit the agricultural sector.

Furthermore, FM Sitharaman highlighted plans to upgrade Bihta airport to bolster regional connectivity and stimulate economic development.

Additionally, she announced the expansion of Patna Airport to accommodate increased passenger flow and enhance infrastructure, along with the construction of three new Greenfield airports aimed at improving air connectivity and facilitating regional development.
