Patna, Jan 21 (NationPress) Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's Samriddhi Yatra (Prosperity Journey) made its way to Saran district on Wednesday. During this visit, he evaluated various development and welfare schemes, engaged with the community, and launched a significant number of infrastructure initiatives.
As part of this endeavor, the Chief Minister laid the groundwork for 45 projects valued at Rs 451 crore and inaugurated 24 completed projects worth Rs 87 crore, bringing the total investment in these initiatives to Rs 538 crore.
“Through the Samriddhi Yatra, which aims to foster a prosperous Bihar, I inspected ongoing development projects in Saran district and assessed the progress of various welfare schemes,” stated Nitish Kumar.
During the visit, he inaugurated the Jeevika Didi tailoring training and production center in Chhapra, examined departmental booths, and distributed checks to beneficiaries of several welfare programs.
He also assessed the facilities at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Chhapra Sadar, gathering insights regarding available resources and infrastructure.
In a review meeting with district officials, Nitish Kumar urged that all projects be completed within specified timelines, ensuring quality and transparency, while stressing that the benefits of welfare schemes must reach every individual in society.
He later engaged with the public during an interaction program.
Attendees included Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Water Resource and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Power Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Saran MP and former Union Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Maharajganj MP Janardan Singh Sigriwal, and several other dignitaries.
However, controversy arose during the Chief Minister's visit as allegations of misconduct towards women emerged.
A BJP leader accused administrative officials of inappropriate behavior with a female MLA during the entry arrangements at the event venue, resulting in a brief uproar.
This incident reportedly occurred amid crowd management on the fifth day of Nitish Kumar's Prosperity Journey. Further details and official responses are pending.
