New Delhi, Sep 29 (NationPress) In a significant enhancement to rail connectivity in Bihar, seven new trains, which include three Amrit Bharat Express trains and four passenger trains, are set to be inaugurated on Monday. Describing this as a remarkable achievement, BJP's Bihar President Dilip Jaiswal stated that the launch signifies the Centre’s dedication to the progress of the state.
The inauguration is perfectly timed just before Dussehra, providing a festive present to the residents of the state. The trains will be launched in the presence of Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary.
In an interview with IANS, Jaiswal remarked, “Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bihar is receiving a unique gift from the Railway Ministry. The launch of the Amrit Bharat Express from Muzaffarpur to Charlapalli illustrates enhanced connectivity for North Bihar.”
“Bihar is being allocated three Amrit Bharat trains, alongside additional trains for the state. We are grateful to the Railway Minister and our Prime Minister for this,” he expressed.
The Amrit Bharat Express represents a new category of semi-high-speed trains introduced by Indian Railways, acclaimed for delivering modern amenities at budget-friendly prices. These trains are designed with general and sleeper coaches, aiming to offer comfort for long-distance journeys without imposing high costs.
Dilip Kumar, Executive Director of Information and Publicity for the Railway Board, stated, “On this auspicious occasion of Durga Puja, Bihar will welcome seven new trains. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary will officiate the flag-off.”
“Among the Amrit Bharat trains being launched, one will connect Darbhanga to Ajmer, another will link Chhapra to Delhi, and the third will run between Muzaffarpur and Hyderabad. The Amrit Bharat Express is recognized for its global facilities at reasonable rates, featuring both general and sleeper coaches. The addition of these three trains will bring the total to 15 operational Amrit Bharat trains in the country,” he added.
The introduction of four passenger trains will also further improve short-distance travel within the state and neighboring areas.
The Amrit Bharat Express aims to bridge the divide between premium and budget travel by providing comfort, speed, and affordability. The launch of these trains not only enhances regional connectivity but also highlights the Centre’s commitment to infrastructure advancement in Bihar.
This initiative is anticipated to benefit millions of passengers, particularly those in North Bihar, who have long sought improved long-distance and interstate train services.
