Srinagar, Sep 29 (NationPress) Authorities in the Sopore sub-division of Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district announced on Monday the capture of a notorious fraudster who had been evading 19 non-bailable warrants.
The individual in question has been recognized as Zubair Ahmad Ganie, also known as Pina or Mansoor Ganie, son of Abdul Rashid Ganie, a resident of Rohama Rafiabad. He was wanted for numerous cases of fraud and deception throughout Jammu and Kashmir.
“The suspect was facing a staggering 19 non-bailable warrants issued by various courts in Baramulla, Budgam, Kupwara, Anantnag, Pulwama, Srinagar, and Kulgam districts. Additionally, he had been declared a proclaimed offender in four separate cases, including one by the Court of Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMIC) Dangiwacha. Officials described Ganie as a habitual fraudster who successfully evaded capture for an extended period, often relocating to avoid detection,” stated police officials.
“His arrest is a significant achievement for Sopore Police, reflecting their ongoing commitment to bringing justice to victims. This development sends a strong message that no criminal, regardless of their attempts to evade capture, can escape the long arm of the law,” the authorities added.
Law enforcement indicated that they will continue to take stringent legal action against those involved in fraudulent activities to protect citizens and maintain the rule of law. Residents of Sopore and nearby areas, long victimized by such fraudulent individuals, have welcomed this significant arrest.
Legal analysts pointed out that with multiple warrants and being a proclaimed offender, Ganie now faces a prolonged judicial process.
Sopore Police have urged the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior to prevent future fraud cases. The arrest is regarded as a notable victory for Sopore Police, who are intensifying their efforts against fraudsters and other criminals,” officials stated.
Across various districts in Jammu and Kashmir, police, crime branches, and SIA units have been uncovering extensive fraud schemes related to land dealings, investment scams, and other financial crimes.
