Patna, Sep 12 (NationPress) Bihar's Water Resources Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary expressed his contentment regarding the state's developmental achievements as reported in the recent release by the National Statistics Organisation (NSO).
"The NSO, which assesses and provides data on the nation's overall progress, recently published its annual report for the fiscal year 2024-25. I am pleased, and every resident of Bihar should take pride in the fact that our growth rate surpasses all other states, with the exception of Tamil Nadu," Minister Choudhary stated.
He noted that economic activities in Bihar are on the rise, directly influencing an increase in per capita income.
"Our per capita income has surged to over Rs 76,000, up from Rs 68,690 in the previous financial year of 2023-24. This significant growth is a testament to the relentless development efforts spearheaded by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Remarkably, for the first time, the industrial sector has outperformed agriculture in Bihar's economic landscape," he added.
Addressing the political opposition, Minister Choudhary condemned the Congress for their social media commentary targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mother, labeling it as a sign of frustration within opposition ranks.
In response to remarks made by RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists, he remarked, "Tejashwi has recognized the significance of SIR. His cooperation is commendable - it marks a positive beginning."
On Tejashwi's claims about criminal activity emanating from the Deputy CM's residence, Choudhary stated, "Criminal investigations reveal the truth. Our government is committed to transparency. What matters is identifying, apprehending, and punishing the real offenders."
Choudhary rejected allegations concerning irregularities in the 'Mai Bahin Maan Yojana' forms.
"Authentic schemes are issued by the government, not by political affiliates. If party members are distributing forms, it constitutes fraud," he said.
Regarding political candidates ahead of elections, the minister acknowledged that such ambitions are normal.
"As elections approach, aspirations to contest or secure positions arise across all parties. This is a recurring phenomenon. Our party will always prioritize its committed members," he concluded.
