BJP Assembles to Reach Agreement on District Leaders

Bhopal, Jan 2 (NationPress) The leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Madhya Pradesh is set to convene to foster agreement on the nominees for the district heads (zila adhyaksh) of the party on Thursday.

All BJP members and prospective candidates vying for the 'zila adhyaksh' roles have gathered in the state capital and will participate in an extensive meeting at the party's headquarters in Bhopal.

Following several rounds of discussions held at the party's district offices, the upcoming talks will feature the party's in-charge for Madhya Pradesh, Mahendra Singh, state unit president V.D. Sharma, along with other key organizational leaders.

There are approximately four to five contenders from each district, and during the meeting, BJP officials will engage with all potential nominees to attempt to reach a consensus on selecting one name from each district, sources informed IANS.

Multiple meetings aimed at finalizing the 'zila adhyakshs' have been conducted, during which three to four candidates emerged based on caste dynamics.

Post-meeting, Mahendra Singh will present the list to the Central leadership for final endorsement.

Previously, the BJP had announced that the selection process for 'zila adhyakshs' was intended to conclude by the end of December. Nonetheless, it faced delays due to a 'lack of consensus' among leaders and local party members from various factions.

According to sources within the BJP, this inconsistency at the state level has also been brought to the attention of the party's Central leadership.

The Central leadership, however, instructed the state unit to resolve the issue through consensus among leaders and party workers.

Amid the ongoing organizational restructuring to reinforce its grassroots base, the BJP has successfully completed elections for its multi-tiered 'Booth' and 'Mandal' committees.

A booth committee consists of 12 members, including a president and 11 additional members. This election process was primarily necessary for appointing the committee presidents.

The other 11 roles include 'WhatsApp Pramukh', 'Labharthi Pramukh', secretary, 'Maan Ki Baat Pramukh', and booth-level agent.
