Patna, Oct 16 (NationPress) On Thursday, the BJP unveiled its third and final roster of 18 candidates for the imminent Bihar Assembly elections, thereby fulfilling its quota of 101 seats as per the NDA's seat-sharing agreement.

In a parallel development, the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) disclosed its own list of four candidates.

From the RLM’s inaugural list, Madhav Anand is set to contest in Madhubani, Prashant Kumar Pankaj will run from Ujiarpur, while Snehlata, the spouse of party leader Upendra Kushwaha, is vying for the Sasaram seat. Alok Kumar Singh will represent the party in Dinara. The alliance has granted the RLM a total of six seats.

Previously, the BJP had announced two candidate lists — the first featuring 71 names on Tuesday, followed by a second list with 12 candidates on Wednesday. With this latest announcement, the BJP has completed its candidate declarations for all 101 constituencies it is contesting.

The second list highlighted two prominent personalities — acclaimed folk artist Maithili Thakur and retired IPS officer Anand Mishra, both viewed as strong contenders likely to resonate with key voter demographics in their respective areas.

In other news, the Chirag Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) revealed its first list of 14 candidates for the elections on Wednesday. The LJP (RV), which has been allocated 29 seats under the NDA arrangement, is anticipated to release its remaining list shortly.

Noteworthy names in the LJP (RV) list include the party’s Bihar state president Raju Tiwari, contesting from Govindganj in East Champaran; influential regional figure Hulas Pandey from Brahmapur in Buxar; and Chirag Paswan’s nephew, Seemant Mrinal, who will run from the Garkha (SC) constituency in Saran district.

According to the seat-sharing formula, both JD(U) and BJP are contesting 101 seats each, with LJP (Ram Vilas) being the third-largest ally, campaigning for 29 seats.

Former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi's Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and Rajya Sabha member Upendra Kushwaha's Rashtriya Lok Morcha have each been allocated six seats.

Despite the agreement, minor tensions linger, as HAM leader Jitan Ram Manjhi has declared his party will contest from Makhdumpur and Bodh Gaya, which are designated for the LJP (RV). Discussions are ongoing over other seats, such as Mahua and Chakai.

Amidst these tensions, RLM leader Upendra Kushwaha met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Wednesday, assuring that all issues would be settled amicably within the NDA.

The first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections is scheduled for November 6, with the second phase on November 11. The vote counting will occur on November 14.
