BJP MP Manoj Tiwari Predicts AAP Will Secure No More Than 12 Seats in Delhi Elections

New Delhi, Dec 9 (NationPress) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Manoj Tiwari directed a pointed critique at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) after the party relocated former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia from his Patparganj seat to Jangpura.
In an interview with IANS, Tiwari forecasted that AAP would find it challenging to secure over 12–13 seats in the forthcoming elections. “The Aam Aadmi Party has already acknowledged its defeat in Delhi. Arvind Kejriwal is no longer the Chief Minister and, due to the corruption allegations against him, he cannot reclaim his position,” Tiwari asserted.
Addressing Sisodia’s decision to change his constituency, Tiwari stated, “Manish Sisodia, the party's second-in-command, has deserted Patparganj because they recognize their inability to win there. Their internal assessments reveal they will not exceed 12–13 seats. This clearly indicates that AAP has lost the confidence of Delhi’s populace.”
On various civic and environmental issues, Tiwari accused the AAP government of underperforming. “AAP has no sincere commitment to reducing pollution, ensuring clean water, or tackling the tanker mafias. These shortcomings forced Sisodia to abandon his constituency. Remember my words, the day is not far when they will have to exit Delhi entirely,” he informed IANS.
Earlier on Monday, AAP unveiled its second list of 20 candidates for the impending Assembly elections in the national capital. Manish Sisodia, previously the Deputy CM of Delhi and a close associate of Arvind Kejriwal, has been included in this list, although his constituency has been altered from Patparganj to Jangpura, which is presumably a stronghold for AAP.
The significance of Sisodia’s constituency shift in the upcoming polls is noteworthy as he has represented Patparganj for an extensive period; however, his electoral prospects were nearly jeopardized in the 2020 elections when he narrowly secured victory in a tightly contested race in Patparganj.
The Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled for early next year. While the Kejriwal-led AAP has remained largely unchallenged over the past decade, the party faces what may be its most significant challenge yet. The BJP, the primary opposition party, has been consistently criticizing the AAP government over allegations of corruption, claiming that the ruling party operates under a singular agenda—promoting and protecting the corrupt, with its leadership at the forefront.
