Gurugram, Feb 17 (NationPress) The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has selected Sundar Lal Yadav as its mayoral candidate for the Manesar Municipal Corporation (MMC). Sundar Lal, a resident of Sikandarpur village, previously served as the Sarpanch of Sikandarpur prior to the establishment of the Municipal Corporation.

According to sources, his connection with the senior party leadership played a crucial role in securing the Mayoral ticket. Yadav holds considerable influence in the region and is known for initiating numerous social service projects.

"I am grateful to the top leadership of BJP for naming me as the candidate for the role of Mayor of MMC. The trust shown by the organization is both an honor and a responsibility. With the support of the community, I am committed to advancing the development and public service initiatives in the MMC area," he stated.

He expressed confidence that Manesar will thrive and progress will occur under the guidance of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.

"My passion for social service and my continuous engagement with the community earned me this ticket. After winning, I will do everything possible to enhance the region," he added.

On the other hand, Congress has fielded a promising candidate, Neeraj Yadav, who hails from Manesar, a significant village within the Municipal Corporation. His uncle, Rao Shrikrishna, was the inaugural Zila Parishad Chairman of the district and held substantial influence locally.

Neeraj Yadav has been involved with the Congress party since 2008 and has served as both the state vice-president and district president after winning organizational elections.

Starting from student politics, he has also managed the Delhi University Student Union elections and has established strong connections within the party's high command. He has actively contributed to strengthening the party during Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.

Candidates for the mayor and council positions from BJP and Congress submitted their nomination papers for the Gurugram and Manesar Municipal Corporation elections on Monday.

In Gurugram, MP Rao Inderjeet Singh submitted the nomination for BJP Mayoral candidate Rajrani Malhotra. Rao Inderjeet expressed confidence in a significant victory for BJP across the state.

Following the rejection of Usha Priyadarshi's ticket, Rajrani Malhotra was nominated due to her deep ties with the RSS, which faced no opposition.

Additionally, cabinet minister Rao Narbir Singh visited Manesar to support the nomination of BJP candidate Sundar Lal Yadav, asserting that BJP would prevail in Manesar, leaving Congress without any gains.
